Southland Hospice
“Southland Hospice is committed to providing quality care for patients faced with a life limiting illness. The goal is to improve the quality of a person’s life through pain and symptom control, emotional and spiritual support. We believe that the patient and their family are integral decision making members of the Hospice Team for planning and receiving care. Hospice offers an alternative to repeat hospitalizations and provides patients the opportunity to complete their lives with dignity and peace.”

Description of work:
“Veterans are needed throughout the Valley! Work from your home. More than ever, we need you to be a part of our Hospice Team. During this challenging time, especially with the “stay at home” order issued by the Governor of Arizona, our veteran patients are more isolated than ever. Physical distancing is different than social distancing. We can be social through means of cards and letters, written by caring veterans who want to let the “brothers in arms” know that they are not alone, that there are those who served in the armed forces as well who care about how they are. We are asking for compassionate veterans (and family members) who want to make a difference in the lives of our hospice veterans and their families. We can provide the materials if you’d like, you will provide the cheer and encouragement. You CAN provide a meaningful impact with whatever time you have to write.
If, when this crisis has abated, restrictions are lifted and you’d like to go further with volunteering, Southland Hospice provides volunteer training, orientation, and support.
Southland Hospice is a Level IV We Honor Veterans Program.”
